Last night saw rains lash North Costal Tamil Nadu between Mahabalipuram & Pondicherry with areas in South Chennai like Tambaram, Madipakkam, Pallavaram, OMR etc also receiving good spells of rains. As expected the rain bands shifted South compared to the day before.

Chennai Weather – Heavy Overnight Rains South Chennai
Last night saw heavy rains lash many places in South Chennai with Anna University, Taramani, Adyar enjoying rains in excess of 30 mm, while Nungambakkam received only about 8 mm. Many areas in North Tamil Nadu also received these heavy rains.

As expected the long rainy spell for Chennai pretty much wound up last evening with isolated drizzles in areas to the North Chennai like Madhavaram, Red Hills, Manali etc. Most of North Tamil Nadu remained dry and hot through the day.
