Rains slowed down in most parts of Tamil Nadu yesterday with only a few places in the districts of Salem, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai & Nilgiris getting rains. Namakkal & surrounding areas possibly got the best spells of rains in the state.

Tamil Nadu Weather – Widespread Rains Lash Interior TN
Many parts of Interior Tamil Nadu saw widespread rains last night with some of the heaviest spells happening over the Delta region in Central Tamil Nadu. Thuvakudi near Trichy and Devakottai in Sivaganga district got close to 8 cms of rains during late evening yesterday.
Chennai Weather – Overnight rains lash South Chennai
South Chennai and adjoining suburbs received heavy spells of overnight rains. Taramani recording 32 mm of overnight rains. Kelambakkam, Thaiyur, Anna University Weather stations also recorded good rains during this spell. Villupuram & Tiruvannamalai district received heavy spells of rains with Tirukoilur receiving 69 mm of rains through the night
