Weather Update

The last few days have seen Break in Monsoon Thunderstorms rock over most parts of Tamil Nadu with yesterday once again seeing many places in the state recording 7 to 10 cms in the state with districts of Namakkal, Villuppuram, Perambalur, Trichy, Karur seeing very intense thunderstorms that moved slowly dumping rains during the process. It was no surprise that Chennai & Suburbs remained quiet for the past couple of days as rest of Tamil Nadu enjoyed successive wonderful evenings of thunderstorms. Chennai defies Logic as far as weather models go is by now something that need to be cast in stone, so often this pattern of Chennai & Rest of TN having inverse relationship with regard to thunderstorms has happened.

In the process weather bloggers end up not only getting disappointed with heightened expectation, a sense of frustration also creeps in but this could be the time to remind of the famous quotes from Bhagavad Gita “எது நடந்ததோ ,அது நன்றாகவே நடந்தது. எது நடக்கிறதோ ,அது நன்றாகவே நடக்கிறது. எது நடக்க இருக்கிறதோ, அதுவும் நன்றாகவே நடக்கும்”. So Chennai will get its share of thunderstorms when things fall in place, we could certainly feel happy that Chennai is indeed a special place as far as thunderstorms go that is why we relish each drop of rain that falls more.

Though the absence of rains for Chennai for the last few days has left enough eggs on the face to may be create a Poultry farm it is our responsibility to update as things are based on how weather models look. Today & tomorrow certainly looks very good as far wind induced instability for Chennai. What actually transpires will mean one more day of learning & possibly an evening of watching the thunderstorms rush in.
