Parts of South India saw mango showers yesterday under the influence of wind discontinuity developing from the persisting North – South Trough extending from North Karnataka up to South Tamil Nadu.  Places around Bangalore recorded moderate rains last evening while Hyderabad recorded about 6 mm rains bringing much needed relief from the heat the city has been facing for the last week or so.

Hot conditions are expected to prevail today as well over most parts of Interior Tamil Nadu with the districts of Vellore, Salem, Erode, Karur, Namakkal & Trichy seeing day time temperatures stay in the region of 38 / 39°C while the coastal areas will see temperatures stay a slightly more moderate 35°C.

Like yesterday the wind instability is likely to trigger some rains today as well with places in Wayanad district of Kerala and Madikeri, Hassan districts of Karnataka well placed to receive some moderate showers in the evening.  Isolated places in South Interior Karnataka and adjoining parts of West Interior TN could get some late evening showers under the influence of rising air particles due to ground radiation and the prevailing wind instability at lower levels of atmosphere.
