Isolated Rains in South Tamil Nadu continues, Kerala to get its share

Under the influence of the Easterly Wave isolated rains in South Tamil Nadu is being recorded with places around Thootukudi, Tirunelveli & Nagercoil enjoying the spells of rains.  Heavy spell of rains have hit Nagercoil and surrounding areas last evening.  It has come as  a welcome relief to the people out there who were witnessing fairly hot conditions over the last fortnight or so.

While we have listed the places that have received significant rainfall even places in Virudhunagar district around the Aruppukottai area has received some bit of overnight showers.  While in Tirunelveli district the places in Western Ghats like Kalakkad etc have also got benefited out of these showers.

The showers are likely to continue today as well though South Kerala could possibly benefit from the heavier showers today as the impact zone of the Easterly wave moves slightly to the West.  Nevertheless today also exists a fair chance for a few places in South Tamil Nadu to benefit from spells of light to moderate rains.

Thanks to the prevailing Easterly winds temperatures will continue to be moderated across most parts of the coastal areas.  South Tamil Nadu is likely to see a significant drop in temperatures on account of cloudy skies that are expected to prevail during the day time.
