Comfortable Day Ahead for North Tamil Nadu

Reading Time: 2 minutes

While yesterday rains over Tamil Nadu were not as widespread as Tuesday most parts of the state in particular North Tamil Nadu enjoyed comfortable weather under cloudy skies.  No IMD observatory recorded above 40°C with Trichy the hottest place in the state at 37.8°C.  The last two days have added almost 10 mm to the seasonal total of Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry.

On the monsoon front all of Tamil Nadu & Kerala has been covered by Southwest Monsoon yesterday, 2 days behind schedule, while parts of Rayalaseema, South Karnataka also has seen monsoon conditions reach.  The Well Marked Low in Arabian Sea is expected to loose influence in the next day or two as the Bay system deepends, this will augur well for the monsoon to climb up the latitude by this weekend to cover most parts of Peninsular India.

Numerical Models indicate another possibly cloudy day ahead for most parts of Peninsular India it is likely to be another comfortable day on the temperature front for Chennai and rest of the places of North Tamil Nadu with temperatures expected to stay a couple of degrees below normal. Isolated places in South Tamil Nadu could see the day time temperatures stay a degree or two above normal but most of the state will see comfortable conditions prevail.

On the rain front today could be another day of good rains for Andhra Pradesh and Telengana with few places in South Karnataka getting good spells of rains.  Some isolated rains may happen over North Tamil Nadu and parts of Central TN.  If wind pattern turns out favorably one or two places close to Chennai could see moderate evening thunderstorms whether the city will get benefit out of it we need to keep a watch on.
