Chennai Summer – Kathiri Ends on a Subdued Note

In what is possibly the hottest period for Chennai according to traditional almanac, Agni Natchathiram or Kathiri, ended yesterday on a subdued note with Meenambakkam recording 40.6⁰ & Nungambakkam recorded 38.6⁰.

But Weather watchers would be the first to point out Chennai over the recent years June also has seen some very hot days  2012 for instance saw June start with 8 straight 40⁰C days.  Its early days yet to think Chennai Summer is over yet.

There is a possibility of some rains for a few places of Tamil Nadu this weekend especially over interior places in North Tamil Nadu & some coastal places in Central Tamil Nadu.  Chennai is currently not in an helpful environment but surprise showers may be possible in a few areas.
