As expected many parts of Chennai received rains last evening with light rains continuing through the night in on and off spells.  So what’s in store today?

Today saw hailstorm in various locations of Western Tamil Nadu & adjoining areas of Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh.  Bangalore, Salem, Harur were some of the towns which received a heavy spell of hail storms today evening. Is Widespread Rains for South Tamil Nadu on the cards again?

While South Tamil Nadu was enjoying heavy & widespread rains over the last few days it was pretty much dry over North Tamil Nadu except for isolated Thunderstorms.  Is it going to change?  Will Chennai be lucky again?

The Upper Air Circulation off the Comorin Coast has further intensified and is now stretching upto 500 hPa levels, this has resulted in monsoon type rains for the Southern Tip of Indian Peninsula.

While most parts of the country is going through a dry phase, south Tamil Nadu is on line to face a spell of isolated heavy rains over the next couple of days.  A combination of factors have created favourble environment for rains over South Tamil Nadu
