The last couple of days have seen temperatures stay relatively lower making it a more comfortable afternoon across most parts of the state. Madurai AP & Salem were the only IMD Observatories to cross 37°C yesterday with most places staying around 35°C. North Coastal places like Chennai were even better with both the observatories in the city recording more than 1°C below normal temperatures.
Today also a combination of strong Easterlies along with partly cloudy skies could keep temperatures under check over most parts of Tamil Nadu. Numerical Models indicate most of South Tamil Nadu to see below normal day time maximum temperatures on account of the cyclonic circulation that is persisting over the Comorin Sea Area.
Under the influence of this persisting low level circulation we could possibly see some light rains / showers in a few places over the coastal areas of South TN & Delta districts during the morning hours while later in the afternoon along the Western Ghats of Kanyakumari & Tirunelveli districts one or two places could get moderate showers as remnant moisture gets trapped by the mountains.
