With the Depression in Bay of Bengal fading away in relevance isolated rains are set to revive back over the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu under the influence of the returning low level Easterlies. Yesterday saw some fairly intense thunderstorms hit parts of North Interior Tamil Nadu around Vellore / Tiruvannamalai districts under the influence of wind convergence.
Thanks to the streamlining Easterlies today the convergence zone could be further to the west in parts of South Interior Karnataka & along the Western Ghats. The next few days could see some rains along the interior areas of the state though the exact area will depend on local conditions & prevailing wind patterns during the day. Not to forget some of the remnant moisture pushed by the Easterlies during the mornings could develop into thunderstorms on their own merit under conducive conditions.
Light rains are expected to return back to the coastal areas under the influence of the low level Easterlies. Things look good for the stretch between Pondicherry and Vedaranyam to see a spell or two of light rains later in the evening / night.
